While that is partially true...Yes car manufacturers still put 35w
HID on their car, but not because the longevity of the 55w
ballast is lesser than the 35w, is just that they focus more on
how to spread that beam as even and farther as possible. How
do they do it?, simply, by designing better projector lenses.
Based on this, the 20% gain in brightness is not significant
enough to make the switch to a more expensive, more power
consuming 55w set up
